Flint Green

Flint Green aims to apply existing, proven technologies in innovative, low cost ways that are particularly useful for the Flint community. There are numerous studies that support the use of a variety of configurations of solar and wind systems, from very large to modest in size and output.  No study has evaluated their utility (combinations of wind and solar), for supplementing electricity requirements in single home dwellings units in a low income, urban setting such as Flint.  The purpose of this feasibility study is to accumulate known data, known suppliers and products, design an optimal system based on all available data, and attempt to begin the process of designing an optimal, low cost, robust, functional system. The published findings will extend the economic knowledge of renewable energy in Flint and Genesee County.
