Dr. Hummel is creating a strategic plan for the Shiawassee River Water Trail Coalition. He teaches classes that specifically deal with the strategic planning process so Dr. Hummel see this as a meaningful way offer his student research assistant a hands-on learning experience. The Shiawassee River Trail Coalition hopes to have the trail designated as a National Water Trail, along with park features geared to attract more tourists and residents to the area for an economic boost. Dr. Hummel has decided to implement his proposal by developing a committee that will meet monthly to develop a plan to implement the strategic plan.
