Colleen Brown

I was born and raised in Montrose Michigan. I decided to run for City Council in 2008 because I’m a believer of the idea that you should get involved rather than complain and was elected that year. In 2014 I stepped up to fill the role of Mayor and have held that position since. This year our community will be committing to a complete rewrite of our Master Plan to set the path for the years ahead. Being involved in this committee seems to be a perfect extension of the work I am currently doing. I did move away to go to college but eventually purchased a home in Montrose. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Computer Networking. I worked in “Corporate America” for years. But after being downsized 3 times, I decided I wanted to go a different route. I am now a small business owner and I currently run The Elissa Rose Catering and Banquet Center.
